The Building Inspector shall be responsible for enforcing City building codes, issuing building permits and conducting commercial and residential building inspections throughout the City of West Orange. He shall conduct annual inspections of commercial businesses and residential rental properties. He shall also advise the Mayor and City Council on needed building code updates, and shall have other responsibilities and duties as the City Council from time to time assign him. The Building Inspector shall be under direct supervision of the Mayor.
